Ethan Daniel Wood, age 35, of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away on May 1, 2026, after a long and difficult battle with mental health and addiction.
He is survived by a family who loved him deeply and offered their support in the best ways each knew how. He leaves behind his son - Landon Frank Wood; parents - Cindy and Kevin Wood; long-time companion and mother of their son - Krystal Crockett; siblings - Chelsey Quick Afshari (Ashkan), Chad Quick (Michele), Ryan Quick and many more caring family members.
Ethan could be a clever, funny and creative person who enjoyed being in nature, spending time with those important to him, enjoying his playful dog and living in the moment.
While family and friends tried endlessly to help him find healing, they are now mourning the man he could have been.
We choose to forgive the hurt caused by his illness, and find comfort in knowing he has finally found the peace that eluded him in life.
A private remembrance will be held by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), or Hope Community Church Refiner’s Recovery in his memory, in the hopes that others might find the healing Ethan was seeking.
