Wolfe Alan

Wolfe Alan R., age 52, of San Diego, Ca., Formerly Edwardsville, Il., died December 16, 2003, Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, Ca.. Visitation 2 PM to 5 PM on Sunday, December 28th, at the funeral home. Funeral services at 5:00 PM on Sunday, December 28th, at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL. in . Alan graduated from Edwardsville High School and attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He joine dthe Navy in 1972, graduating from the National University at San Diego on October 17, 1993 with a Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychology. His theatre campaigns included Vietnam, Cambodia, Iran-Iraq War, Southwest Asia (Persian Gulf), Southeast Asia, South Pacific, Middle East, and Africa. During the Vietnam Era he was involved with the rescue of many survivors, taking them to safe waters. He recieved 17 decorations while serving on 12 overseas deployments on four ships: The USS Bronstein, USS Knox, USS Waddell, and the USS Ft. McHenry. Alan's travels include the Top of Mt Fuji as well as Kuwait City. He is a combat veteran and a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1299 in Edwardsville. Following his discharge from the Navy he worked for Stu Seigal Productions out of San Diego. Survivors include his parents Roy D. & Edna (Sedlacek) Wolfe of Edwardsville. Two sisters; Sue (Husband Robert) Ricker of Aurora, Co. and Jana Wolfe of Glendale, Mo. Family request memorials to St. John's Conference Claims or the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation.
