Virginia "Gingie" Loretta Koelker-Williamson Obituary

Virginia “Gingie” Loretta Koelker-Williamson, age 79, of Maryville, IL, formerly of Madison, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. She was born October 27, 1945, in Granite City, IL, the daughter of the late, Harold & Dorothy (Musick) Koelker, Sr.  She married Larry Williamson, Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1984. Gingie is survived by three sons, Larry Ray Williamson, Jr. and wife Erica of Albuquerque, NM, Kevin Williamson & wife Kim of Galena, MO, Sean Williamson & wife Kari of Glen Carbon; five grandchildren, Ryan, Alli, Jake, Eric & Gabriele Williamson; two great grandchildren; one brother, Mark Koelker & wife Deborah of Vandalia, IL; three sisters, Mary Catherine Heagy-Metz of Edwardsville, Dot Schiller of Glen Carbon, Niecey Essington & husband Rich of Glen Carbon; & sister-in-law Roseann Koelker of Venice, IL. Gingie was also preceded in death by two brothers, John & Harold “Dee Dee” Koelker, Jr; and her fiancé Ed Dorsey. She grew up in Venice, IL where she was one of seven siblings. She then moved to Madison, IL where she raised her family until 2019. She then moved into Liberty Village in Maryville where she was a self-proclaimed “Ambassador”. Gingie loved to spend time at home on her patio, watching tv game shows, reading, cooking & working on puzzles with her loved ones. She was a special person and spread sunshine to all of those around her. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Fr. Rob Johnson officiating. The family requests memorials to Liberty Village.
