Vincent Spitze, age 83, of Edwardsville, IL, died September 9, 2003, Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville, IL. Visitation 4 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, September 11th, at the funeral home. Funeral services at 11 AM on Friday, September 12th, at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. Vincent retired in 1984 as a claims adjustor for Country Companies in Edwardsville. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church and a Veteran of the US Army Air Corps where he served as a airplane mechanic during WWII in the European Theatre. Vince was preceded in death by his wife Betty M. (Williams) Spitze, 4 brothers, & 3 sisters. Survivors include a son Ted V. (Wife Kelli) Spitze of Poplar Bluff, Mo. A daughter Linda L. (Husb Bill) Brase of Edwardsville. Six grandchildren:Paige Brase, Eric (Wife Carrie) Brase, Kari (Husb Tad) Roniger, Emily, Todd, & Tyler Spitze. Three grandchildren: Megan Brase, Lydia :& Kurtis Roniger. Memorials maybe directed to Immanuel United Methodist Church
