Verna M. Pashea

Verna M. Pashea, age 90, of Bethalto, IL, formerly of Edwardsville, IL, passed away at Cedarhurst of Bethalto on Monday, December 30, 2024.  Verna was born in Pleasant Ridge, IL, on May 2, 1934, the daughter of the late Norman & Rosalyn (Wesemann) Baeser.  Verna married Wayne Pashea on February 2, 1957, and 43 years of marriage Wayne preceded her in death on May 15, 2000.  Verna is survived by her two sons, Mike Pashea, of St. Charles, MO, and Doug Pashea & wife Shawn, of Bethalto, IL; five grandchildren, Jessica Diercks & Randall, of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Adam Pashea, of Maryville, IL, Rachel Pieper & husband Jonathan, of Edwardsville, IL, Christopher Pashea, of Edwardsville, IL, Sarah Pashea, of Chicago, IL; four great grandchildren, Justen Sophie, Reagan & Kennedy; and a sister, Marlene Chase, of Keller, TX.  Besides her parents and husband, Verna was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Jean Schultz; and a brother, Don Baeser. Verna was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Edwardsville and was also a member of the lady’s guild.  A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm.  A funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm also at the funeral home with Rev. Robert J. Jallas presiding.  Verna will be cremated according to her wishes and a private family interment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Glen Carbon, IL.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to National Association of Down Syndrome.   Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.
