Thomas F. Burns

Thomas F. Burns, age 86, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025.  Thomas was born on April 3, 1939, in Granite City, IL, the son of the late Edwin H. & Leona M. (Francis) Burns.  Tom married Leone M. (Isselhardt) Burns on September 23, 1961, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Edwardsville, IL.  Besides his wife of 64 years, Tom is survived by his son, Jeffery Burns & wife Dawn, of Edwardsville, IL; three grandchildren, Casey Burns & wife Aly, of Edwardsville, IL, Jared Burns & wife Celine, of Worden, IL, and Amber Marshall & husband Justin, of Edwardsville, IL; five great grandchildren, Kevin Burns, Kylie Burns, Baylor Burns, Luke Burns, Beckett Marshall; and two brothers, Jim Burns & wife Betty, of Edwardsville, IL, and Kenneth Burns & wife Linda, of O’Fallon, IL.  Besides his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy Francis Burns and Kevin Michael Burns.  Thomas was an owner of Burns Nursery in Edwardsville for many years before his retirement.  He was a veteran of the US Army Reserve and was a member of the Edwardsville Knights of Columbus and St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville.  A visitation will be on Friday, October 24, 2025, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.  A funeral Mass will immediately follow at the church at 11:00 am with Very Rev. Jeffrey H. Goeckner presiding. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville. The family suggests memorials to St. Boniface Catholic Church or BJC Hospice.
