Sandra L. Neunaber

Sandra L. Neunaber, (nee Meyer), was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the age of 86 in St. Louis, MO. Born on December 8, 1939, in Elgin, IL, she was the daughter of the late Alfred R. & Rose C. Meyer (nee Holtz); devoted wife of the late John H. Neunaber; beloved mother of Susan Hunn, Sara (David) Schoedel, Jodie (Richard) Hu, and Julie (Joel) Friend; cherished grandmother to Allison (Brian) Nelke, Hannah Connely, Adam (Amanda) Schoedel, Abbey (Joseph) Schneider, Claire (Daniel Calin) Schoedel, Harper Hu, Grace, Andrew, and Aaron Friend, and adored great-grandmother to Elle, Maeve, Laine, Faye, Harrison, Charlie, and Rowen.

Sandra’s life was a testament to her faith, her devotion to family, and her spirit of caring.  As a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Strasburg, IL and then Trinity Lutheran Church in Edwardsville, IL, she unassumingly supported her husband during the many years of his teaching and music ministry.  She quietly and steadfastly raised their four daughters, while also opening her home to her own mother, providing her with care and companionship for many years and modeling what it meant to care for others.  Sandra was a talented seamstress and enjoyed puzzles, reading and playing cards. She found special joy in her card group at Meridian Village where she had been a resident for the past decade. Above all Sandra cherished the special moments spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Edwardsville from 9:30 am until 11:00 am.  A funeral service will immediately follow at the church at 11:00 am with Rev. John Shank presiding. Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville.   The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Ministries or EverTrue Meridian Village.  Condolences may be shared online at weberfuneralhome.com
