Sampow "Pow" Utechtt

Sampow “Pow” Utechtt, age 72, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Sunday August 25, 2024, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Pow was born in Korat, Thailand, on April 27, 1952, the daughter of the late Pong & Samrit (Sakunkhamsat) Phomuenwai. Pow married Timothy Utechtt on October 13, 1973, at Eden Church in Edwardsville. Besides her husband of 50 years, Pow is survived by her three children, Brian Utechtt-Gegg & his husband, Darren, of Edwardsville, IL, Jeff Utechtt & his wife Jen, of Wichita, KS; & Michelle Hattrup & her husband James, of Edwardsville, IL; four grandchildren, Jesse Hattrup, Aubrey Hattrup, Addison Utechtt, & Nolan Utechtt; Four sisters, Pin (Germany), Thongphan (Belgium), Thongpoon and Sirinporn (Thailand); 1 brother Sornchai (Thailand), and 15 nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Pow was preceded in death by her two brothers Lek and Thongperm. Pow enjoyed the outdoors where she loved to garden, golf, fish, or even just take an evening walk. She also cherished her trips to the casino where she could play her slot machines. Most of all she loved her friends and family. She loved to travel with them and especially attending the grand kid’s activities. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. The funeral service will follow at noon at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home with Rev. John Roberts officiating. Interment will be at Quercus Grove Cemetery in Edwardsville.
