Robert Wells Obituary

Robert L. Wells, age 88, of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at this residence.  Robert was born in Cadillac, MI, the son of the late Charles R. & Lucille A. (Rose) Wells on June 7, 1936.  Robert married Srinuan (Abpukvan) Wells in 1974 in Thailand.  Besides his wife of 50 years, Robert is survived by his four children, Tina Wells, of Florida, Bradley Wells, of Wyoming, MI, Lucinda Wells, of Findlay, OH, and Weerawan Wells, of Glen Carbon, IL; five grandchildren, David Wells, Tim Wells, Hallie Wells, Matthew Mokriakow, and Shayanne Wells; seven great grandchildren, Riley, Brandt, Piper, Damien, Lily, Raiden, and Jade; and a brother, Donald Wells & wife Dixie, of Cadillac, MI.  Besides his parents Robert was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Butcher and Gladys Dwyer.  Robert entered the US Air Force in 1956 and retired from the Air Force in 1984 after 28 years.  He was a decorated combat veteran of Vietnam War as an air navigator. After his military service, Robert continued to serve his country, going to work as a civilian for the Federal Government as an aeronautical analyst for the Geospatial Intelligence Agency until his retirement in 2018.  Robert was an avid collector building an extensive movie collection, Budweiser steins, and Snoopy and Peanuts memorabilia. He also had a passion for aviation and military history. A private family service will be held, and interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
