Richard A. Butcher

Richard A. Butcher, age 73. of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.  Richard was born on February 23, 1951, in Edwardsville, the son of the late Harold E. & Helen J. (Balke) Butcher.  Richard married Linda K. (Werner) Butcher on August 10, 1974, at Eden Church in Edwardsville. Besides his wife of 50 years, Richard is survived by his son, Michael Butcher, of Edwardsville, IL; a daughter, Susan Crainick & her husband Tony, of White City, IL; four grandchildren, Cash Butcher, Dalton Crainick, Cameron Crainick, and Kriston Crainick; and a sister, Carol Bernhardt & her husband Dale, of Livingston, IL.  Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by two brothers, John E. Butcher and Harold Butcher, Jr.; and a sister, Thelma Wrigley. Richard came from a family of lifetime carpenters and was a member of Local 377 in Wood River until his retirement.
