Odell Thorpe

Odell F. Thorpe, age 72, of Biloxi, MS. formerly Alton, IL., died June 8, 2003, Biloxi Regional Medical Center in Biloxi, Ms.. Visitation 4 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, June 11th, at the funeral home. Funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, June 12th, at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. Mr. Thorpe retired from Owens-Illinois MOld Shop after 37 years of service, where he served as production supervisor. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, A member of the American Legion, & the Sunkist Country Club. He served two terms on the Sunkist Board of Directors and was instrumental in a number of facility improvements at the course. He was a founding member of SUNGO, the Sunkist Mens' Golf Association, and held the distinction of most perfect attendance for all of SUNGO's 10 years. He and his wife Sharon held the title of "Mr. & Mrs. Sunkist" for several years. Survivors include his wife Sharon A. (Johnson) Thorpe. A Son Terry Thorpe of Hlllsboro, Mo.: Two daughers; Sherry Lynn Sloss of St. Louis, Mo, and Shelly (David) Sloss of Crestwood, Mo. Six grandchidlren, 8 Nieces & nephews, and 23 great nieces & nephews. One brother Roblee (Charlene) Thorpe of Granite City, IL. Memorials may be directed to the Leukemia Society or American Cancer Society.
