Nancy J. Bunte, age 77, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. Nancy was born on October 26, 1948, in Granite City, IL, the daughter of late Robert &  Minnie Lee (Wilson) Wetzel. She married Richard V. Bunte on June 14, 1969, in Granite City. After 45 years of marriage, Richard preceded Nancy in death on May 4, 2015. Nancy is survived by two daughters, Rebecca B. McKee & husband Patrick, of Edwardsville, IL, and Sarah A. McGinness & husband Shawn, of Edwardsville, IL; six grandchildren: Ethan, Grace, Morgan, Ian, William and Samuel; two sisters, Carol Tempel & husband Phil, of Cincinnati, OH, and Mary Waller, of Granite City, IL; and a brother Robert Wetzel & wife Judy, of Westerville, OH.  Besides her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by one daughter, Emily C. Bunte.  Nancy was an OB nurse at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Granite City and retired after 40 years of service taking great care of newborns and their mothers. Nancy loved bringing joy to others through her crafting skills, whether she was knitting Christmas stockings or designing custom Halloween costumes for those closest to her. She paired a witty, sarcastic sense of humor with a deep commitment to helping others, always giving her time and energy to causes that mattered to her. Nancy was also a long-time member of Eden Church in Edwardsville. A visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Friday, June 5, 2026, at Eden Church in Edwardsville followed by an 11:00 am funeral service at the church with the Rev. John Roberts officiating.  Interment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  Condolences may be shared online at weberfuneralhome.com
