Nadine A. Gentry

Nadine A. Gentry, age 94, of Alhambra, IL, passed away on July 2, 2024, at 5:40 am at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, IL.  Nadine was born on August 27, 1929, in Wood River, IL, the daughter of the late Edward & Mamie (Kruse) Balster of Bethalto IL. She married Larman R. Henke on June 18, 1949, in Alton, IL.  He preceded her in death on February 15, 1983.  She later married Lester Gentry on June 15, 1988.  Lester also preceded her in death on September 27, 2021. 

Nadine is survived by a son, Lonnie D. Henke, of Moro, IL; daughter in law, Connie Henke Mull of Bethalto IL; 6 grandchildren- Ashley, Kristen, Allison, Mathew, Tess, and Nick; several great-grandchildren; one step daughter, Janelle Gelly of Highland, IL; and several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.   

Besides her parents and two husbands, Nadine was preceded in death by her son, Rick E. Henke on January 4, 2012. and step-son Wayne Gentry on November 1, 2018.  Also preceded Nadine in death are her sisters Delphine Bardelmeier (Dec. 2005) and Carmen Bardelmeier (Sept. 2010).

Nadine was fond of bowling, traveling to Branson Missouri, and being with her family and friends.  Nadine liked to go dancing on Saturday nights with her husband and friends.

Nadine was cremated according to her wishes.  A private graveside service and interment will be at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.  Family request memorials be made to The American Heart Association. Online condolences may be expressed at weberfuneralhome.com.
