Michael Layne Traband

Michael Lane Traband, age 77, of Grand Junction, CO, formerly of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on April 7, 2023, in Grand Junction. Michael was born in Alton, IL, on January 31, 1946, the son of the late William & Evelyn (Moore) Traband. Michael is survived by his three sisters, Donna Peleck, of Darien, IL, Sharen Chandler, of Mansfield, OH, and Nanette Traband, of Edwardsville, IL; a brother, Wm Brian Traband, of Edwardsville, IL; and numerous nieces & nephews. Michael graduated from Edwardsville High School from the Class of 1964.  To further his education Michael attended the University of Illinois where he received his bachelor’s degree.  After U of I, Micheal entered the United States Air Force serving as interpreter specializing in the Russian language.  Upon leaving the Air Force, Michael attended University of Illinois – Chicago to obtain his master’s degree in social work.  Michael’s love of the outdoors eventually took him out west. Michael was cremated according to his wishes and a private memorial service was held at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville.  Interment is at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville.
