Merle Miller

Merle M. Miller, age 86, of Glen Carbon, IL, died June 15, 2003, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Visitation 4 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at Weber Funeral Home. Funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 18th, at Eden United Church of Christ in Edwardsville, IL. Interment Marine City Cemetery in Marine, IL. Merle worked for Standard Oil in Wood River, Sold Paul Revere Insurance, & retired from the State of Illinois Dept. of Transportation. He was a member of Eden Church, Eden Men's Brotherhood, A Veteran of US Navy in WWII, Member of VFW Post 1299, American Legion Post 199, Edwardsville Moose Lodge, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite of Est. St. Louis, and the Nebo Lodge #76 in Carlinville. Survivors include his wife Evelyn (Stunkel) Bernhardt Miller, Two step-daughters: Judy (Mike) Artrip of Chicago and Jo Ann (Jeff) Rider of Higganum, Connecticut. Two grandchildren Kerry & Jake Armstrong, 5 Step-grandhcildren: Sarah, Anna, & Joe Artrip, John & Mary Rider. He was preceded by his first wife Edna (Huse) Miller, a daughter Kathy Armstrong, two brothers, & two sisters. Memorials may be directed to Eden UCC Foundation of Ministries.
