Melora I Becker

Melora Becker, age 94, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, IL.  Melora was born in Highland, IL, on June 27, 1930, the daughter of the late Melvin & Lenora (Schrumpf) Sackett.  Melora married Leslie “Les” Becker on November 20, 1954, at Eden Church in Edwardsville. Besides her husband of 69 years, Melora is survived by her four children, Terry Becker & wife Denise Henke, of Edwardsville, IL, Yvonne Ginter & her husband Ringo, of Denver, CO, Kenneth Becker & wife Tracy, of Edwardsville, IL, and Dianne Stricker & husband Michael, of Fountain Hills, AZ; 11 grandchildren, Brandon Becker & wife Melodie, Kristen Henke, Matt Henke & wife Suzzy, Eric Ginter & wife Kayla, Marisa Kapsner & husband Joshua, Jayme Crowder & husband Ben, Meghan Nebiolo & husband Andy, Greg Fendler, Jessica Stricker, Brett Stricker, and Jennifer Stricker; and 7 great grandchildren.  Melora was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter Kristyn Becker.  Melora was a lifelong member of Eden Church where she was involved with numerous groups and activities.  She was a longtime Sunday School teacher, a member of the Eden’s Women’s Guild, and had a passion for music, being involved with several choirs and bands.  She was also a Girl Scout Leader and a member of Home Extension.  A visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Eden Church in Edwardsville from 4 pm until 7 pm.  Visitation will continue at Eden Church on Wednesday, October 23, from 9 am until service time at 10 am with Rev. John Roberts officiating.  Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville.  Memorials may be given to Eden Village Foundation.   Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.
