Melburne G. Koenig, age 75, of Edwardsville, IL, died June 30, 2003, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Visitation 3 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, July 2nd, at the funeral home. Funeral services at 10 AM on Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Edwardsville, IL. Interment Forever Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. Mr. Koenig was a retired farmer. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Men's Club. Veteran of US Army during Korean Conflict and a member of the Madison County Farm Bureau. He is survived by one son Richard (Joyce) Koenig f Edwardsville. A daughter Linda (Brian) Weiler of Hamel, Il. Four grandchildren: Lisa Koenig of Alton, Scott Koenig of Edwardsville, Katie & Daniel Weiler of Hamel. Three brothers: Don (Marcia) Koenig of Edwardsville, Jerry (Marj) Koenig of River Forest, Il., and Ralph (Sue) Koenig of Glen Carbon. Two sisters: Dolores (Norman) Thayer of Collinsville and Darlene Gutzwiller of Glen Carbon. One brother-in-law LeRoy (Beverly) Renken of Hamel.He was preceded in death by his wife Wilma (Renken) Koenig and one infant brother. Family suggest memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or Lutheran Children and Family Serices.
