Mary Helen Vargo

Mary Helen Vargo, age 81 of Weldon Springs, MO, formerly of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.  Mary Helen was born on September 27, 1943, in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of the late Lewis & Dr. Helen (Secrest) Santry.  Mary Helen married William Vargo on November 29, 1969, in Indianapolis, IN.  William preceded Mary Helen in death on July 13, 2004. Mary Helen then married Earl Reime on November 27, 2007, and he also preceded her in death on April 20, 2024.  Mary Helen is survived by her two children, Jennifer Howell & her husband Ed, of St. Peters, MO, and Jeffery Vargo, of Columbia, MO; a granddaughter, Madelyn Howell, of St. Peters, MO; sister-in-law, Donna Sutton, of Greenville, NC; and a niece & nephews.  Besides her parents and husbands, Mary Helen was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Santry.  Mary Helen worked for many years as an assistant to Don McBride who helped teach and rehabilitate the visually impaired and blind. Mary Helen loved to travel, and her favorite destination was Cancun.  She also enjoyed traveling across the country in her motor home with her husband William.  A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL, from 10:00 until 11:00 am.  A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am also at the funeral home with Rev.
