Mary Richards

Mary Louise Richards, age 74, of Edwardsville, IL, died March 3, 2004, at her home in Palm Harbor, Florida. There is no visitation. Funeral services at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 9th, at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. "Lou" is survived by her husband Robert W. Richards. Four children: Deborah Richards of Cologne, Germany;Jane Richards & Husband Charles Rollman of Sudbury, Ma;Kate Richards Motley and husband John of Edwardsville; Jim Richards and wife Char of Edwardsville; Six Grandchildren: Krista Motely Wachob and husband Chad; Mark Richards Motley and wife Michelle; Nathan Richards and Nikki Richards; Michael Ashley-Rollman and Caitlin Ashley Rollman; three great-grandchildren Luke, Lila , and Sam Motley. Dona Duncan, Sister, and Gregg Abert, nephew, and wife Jo also survive. Lou was a didicated wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who gave countless hours of service to her family, church and community. She was an active member of the Christian Science Church and Reading Room, and served as First Reader and Librarian in both Edwardsville and Tarpon Springs, Fl. In 1983 she graduated with a degree in German from SIU-E. She taught Sunday school at St. John's United Methodist Church form many years, was a Girl Scout Leader, and was also active in the River Bluffs Council. She also served on the board of the SIU-E Friends of Music, was a Paul Harris Award Recipient, and served on the board of director of Peace Haven in St. Louis. She loved golf, crosswords, traveling and a good game of bridge, and will be greatly missed by her family. Memorials may be given to the Edwardsville YMCA, The Church of Christ, Scientists, or River Bluff Girl Scouts.
