Mary L. Price Obituary
On July 11, 2026, Mary Louise (Sorensen) Price of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a years-long struggle with dementia. She was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in East St. Louis, IL, on May 1, 1945. She graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School in 1963. She started working as a proof operator at a bank in downtown St. Louis. In 1964, she married the love of her life, Robert B. Price of Cahokia, IL. Together they had three children. In 1978, Mary left the workaday world to become a full-time homemaker. She especially enjoyed playing bingo (the cake for her 50th birthday was a big bingo card in which the number 50 was in all the squares—minus the free space, of course) and going on road trips to Tunica, MS, to visit the casinos there.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert B. (Bob) Price, her parents, James Sorensen and Ruby (Green) Sorensen, and her siblings Niels Sorensen, Delores (Sorensen) Van Vleet, and Virginia (Rubin) Grey.
She is survived by her three children, Lisa (Douglas) Bushey, Jeffrey (Michelle) Price, and Andrew (Lyree) Price. She was especially proud of her five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Timothy, Ash, Bobby, and Max. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and -nephews.
The funeral service will be held at St. Cecilia Church, 155 N. Main St., Glen Carbon, IL, on Monday, July 20, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a burial service at 1:00 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL.
We thank all our friends and family who have offered their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to the Dementia Society of America. Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com
