Loyd S. Brown, age 87, of Glen Carbon, IL, died May 21, 2002, at his residence in Glen Carbon, IL. Funeral services at 11 AM on Friday, May 24, 2002, at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL. Burial was at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL. Mr. Brown is survived by 5 sons: Sam (Linda) Brown, Larry (Carolyn) French, David (Sandy) French, Gary (Mary) Brown, and John Brown; 3 daughters: Sarah (Butch) Edwards, Barbara (Richard) Brown and Gail (Garland) Ledbetter; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a sister, Marie Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Welmon) Brown; a daughter, Sondra Brown; 2 grandchildren; 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Mr. Brown was retired from N.L. Industries in LeMay, MO and was a member of General Baptist Church in Edwardsville, IL.
