Linda Smith

Linda Smith, age 80, of New Douglas, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at her residence.  Linda was born on January 25, 1944, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Alvis & Thelma (Moffett) Thompson.  Linda married Galen Gene Smith on September 16, 1961.  After 60 years of marriage, Galen preceded Linda in death on December 21, 2021.  Linda is survived by her daughter, Sherrie Brown, of Edwardsville, IL; three grandchildren, Ryan Brown, of Edwardsville, IL, Tyler Brown & his wife Samantha, of Cottleville, MO, and Devyn Brown, Edwardsville, IL; and four great grandchildren, Maxwell Brown, Daisy Brown, Olivia Brown, Colton Brown.  Besides her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by her siblings, Russell, Juie, Reba, Marie, & Cathy.  Linda loved to pass the time learning to embroider and also really enjoyed decorating.  Linda was cremated and will be privately interred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO next to her husband according to her wishes.
