Lester F. Strohmeier

Lester “Les” F. Strohmeier, age 88, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 24. 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, IL. Les was born on July 14, 1936, in Edwardsville, IL, the son of the late Herman & Edna (Dustman) Strohmeier.  Les married Myrna Kruckeberg on May 2, 1965, in Edwardsville.   Myrna preceded Les in death on May 29, 2012.  Les is survived by his three sons, Randy Strohmeier & wife Sandy, of Bethalto, IL, Rodney Strohmeier (Dawn Wilson), of Bethalto, IL, and Roger Strohmeier (Michele Bell), of Edwardsville IL; 5 grandchildren, Darci Strohmeier, Macie McDermott (Jake), Cole Strohmeier (Emily), Caleb Strohmeier, Ryan Strohmeier; and a great grandson, Wesley Strohmeier. As well as one sister -in-law Bernice Gerstenecker.  Besides his wife and parents, Les was preceded in death by two brothers, George & Elmer Strohmeier; three sisters, Estella Strohmeier, Dororthy Meyer, and Laura Schmidt; and a daughter in law Kelly Jo Strohmeier. Les was a lifelong farmer until his retirement.  Les was a member of the Eden Church in Edwardsville, Madison County Farm Bureau, the Alton Eagles & Madison County Pork Producers. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. Visitation will continue from 10:00 am until service time at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Eden Church with Rev. John Roberts officiating. Interment will be at St. James Cemetery in Fort Russell Township, IL.  Family suggests memorials to Eden Church or Holiday Shores Fire Department.  Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.
