Leslie "Les" Becker Obituary

Leslie “Les” G. Becker, age 94, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, IL.  Les was born in Highland, IL, on July 2, 1930, the son of the late Lester & Hulda (Ottwein) Becker.  Les married Melora (Sackett) Becker on November 20, 1954, at Eden Church in Edwardsville. Melora preceded Les in death on October 17, 2024. Les is survived by his four children, Terry Becker & wife Denise Henke, of Edwardsville, IL, Yvonne Ginter & her husband Ringo, of Denver, CO, Kenneth Becker & wife Tracy, of Edwardsville, IL, and Dianne Stricker & husband Michael, of Fountain Hills, AZ; 11 grandchildren, Brandon Becker & wife Melodie, Kristen Henke, Matt Henke & wife Suzzy, Eric Ginter & wife Kayla, Marisa Kapsner & husband Joshua, Jayme Crowder & husband Ben, Meghan Nebiolo & husband Andy, Greg Fendler, Jessica Stricker, Brett Stricker, and Jennifer Stricker; and 7 great grandchildren.  Besides his parents and wife, Les was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristyn Becker.  Les served in the Marine Corps and was a lifetime member of the American Legion.  He was a lifelong member of Eden Church where he was involved with numerous groups and activities.  He was also involved with the Boy Scouts for over 50 years. He was a scout leader, mentor and has received many awards including Order of the Arrow, Silver Beaver, and God and Country.  Les also enjoyed planting flowers around the house and doing woodworking.  Les will be cremated according to his wishes and a private family service will be held.  Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville.  Memorials may be given to Eden Village Foundation.   Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.
