Kirk Stafford Obituary

Kirk Stafford, age 81, of Edwardsville, IL, died September 7, 2003, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Visitation 4 PM to 8 PM on Friday, September 12th, at the funeral home. Funeral services at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at St. John's United Methodist Church Chapel in Edwardsville, IL. Interment Forever Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. Dewey Kirk Stafford was a Skelgas distributor for 14 years, worked for Drda Electric for 13 years, and was a co-owner of the Robo Car Wash in Edwardsville. He was an Ensign in the U.S. Navy, Pilot, and Landing Craft Tank Commander during World War II. Member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Edwardsville Masonic Lodge #99 AF&AM, Coached Church league baskeball & little league baseball in Edwardsville. Kirk was preceded in death by his wife Glenda M. (Barwell) Stafford, one son Garret Kevin Stafford, a brother Paul " P.G." Stafford & a sister Marjorie Ruth Fleming.Survivors include a son Glenn "Spanky" Stafford & wife Tommie of Orlando, Fla. Three daughters: Adrienne (Berdean) Haupt of Scottsdale, Az, Debbie (Jeff) Lantz, & Dee Dee (Wally) McNeill of Edwardsville. Six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He is also survived by two sister-in-laws and several nieces & nephews. Memorials may be directed to St. John's United Methodist Church or Metro-east Humane Society.
