Manuel"Mike"Kastin, age 82, of Madison, Il, died August 8, 2003, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.. Visitation 4 PM to 8 PM on Monday, August 11, 2003, at Pletcher Funeral Home 627 St. Louis St. Edwardsville, IL. Graveside services at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 12th, at Galum Presbyterian Cemetery in Pinckneyville, IL. Interment Galum Presbyterian Cemetery. Manuel "Mike" Kastin was an accountant. He retired in 1987 as Vice President and treasurer of First Federal Savings & Loan in Edwardsville. He was a Veteran of US Army in World War II and the Korean War. He was past commander of Amvets Post 204 in Madison, Il. He served on the Board of Directors for Madison Mutual Insurance Company. He also served on the Board of Directors of Magna Bank, formerly First National Bank in Madison, now Union Planters Bank. Survivors include his wife Eleanor (Pyatt) Kastin of Madison. One sister Esther Swartz of Creve Couer, Mo. Two nephews: Craig (Cheryl) Swartz of St. Louis and Frank (Shirley) Dry of Springfield, IL. One niece Marilyn (Steve) Stringer of Ullin, Il. 5 great nieces & 1 great nephew. He was preceded in death by a sister Jennie Bornstein.
