Julius F. Henke Obituary

Julius F. Henke, age 98, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at his residence and family farm in rural Edwardsville.  Julius was a lifelong farmer and farmed in Edwardsville his entire life.  Julius was born on March 14, 1928, in Edwardsville, IL, the son of the late Julius M. & Clara (Kruckeburg) Henke.  Julius married Darlene M. (Bertels) Henke on September 10, 1950, in Dorsey, IL, just celebrating 71 years together before her passing on September 15, 2021. Julius is survived by a son, Russell R. Henke & wife Sheri, of Edwardsville; four grandchildren, Julie Noud & husband Rob, of Bethalto, IL, Nate Henke, of Moro, IL,  Darren Henke & wife Darlene, of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Cale Henke & wife Jessica, of Edwardsville; six great grandchildren, Kailey Noud, Hunter Noud, Dylan Henke, Rileigh Henke, Addyson Henke, and Harper Henke; a daughter-in-law, Donna Henke, of Lake Havasu City, AZ; a sister, Laurine Bertels, of Marine IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents & wife, Julius was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth K. Henke; two brothers, Richard Henke & Marvin Henke; and a sister, Laverne Wernle.


A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, IL, with Rev. Karl Kindt presiding.  Family request memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Eden Church.   Online condolences may be expressed at weberfuneralhome.com.
