John R. Moon, age 83, of Troy, Illinois formerly Mt. Vernon, Il., died October 5, 2003,at Sunbridge East in Edwardsville, Il.. Visitation 4 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at Glenview Church of the Nazarene,400 Glen Carbon Rd.,Glen Carbon, Il. Services 10 AM Thursday Oct 9th at the church. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Mr. Moon was a self employed welder and heavy equipment operator. He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII and a member of the NRA. He is survived by his daughter Karen (Steve) McDonnell of Troy, IL. Two grandchildren: Shelby (Rob) Hall of Collinsville, IL. and Frank J. McDonnell of Troy, IL. Four great grandchildren: Robby, Tyler, Adriana, & Olivia. Two brothers: Paul Moon of Westland, Mi. & Frank J. McDonnell of Wayne, Mi. He was preceded in death bya sister Betty Russell. Famly requests memorials to Glenview Church of the Nazarene.
