Joanna Watson

Joanna Watson, age 78, of Edwardsville, IL, died January 19, 2003, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Funeral services at 10 AM on Wednesday, January 22, 2003, at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL. Burial was at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL. Joanna was retired from Madison County Maps and Platts. She later taught swimming and water exercises until 2 weeks before her death. She was known for her love of animals and people alike, and was also a charter member of ACSME Union. She was a life-long member of the Madison County Democratic Party and a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Edwardsville. She is survived by a son Jeffrey (Libby Didriksen) Watson; a daughter, Jayne Murphy; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Blair B. Watson, and a brother, Frederick Goddard.
