Janice L. Schoonover

Janice L. Schoonover, age 83, of Troy, Illinois, formerly of Edwardsville, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Elmwood Nursing & Rehab Center in Maryville, IL. She was born December 19, 1941, in Roxana, Illinois, the daughter of the late Walter & Edith (Hessel) Ringering. Janice married Edward J. Schoonover on February 8, 1964, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2011. She is survived by two daughters, Denise Scarborough & husband Brad of Troy, Lisa Adams & husband Randall of Troy; one granddaughter Heather Scarborough; one brother Tony Ringering & wife Mary of Red Bud, IL; & four sisters, Charlene Thorpe of Bethalto, Jean Bland of Maryville, Nancy Busch of Worden & Kay Pellegrino & husband John of South Carolina. She will be cremated according to her wishes and will be buried at St. James Cemetery in Edwardsville. There will be no visitation or services.
