James Owens,

James Owens, Sr., age 61, of Granite City, IL, formerly Glen Carbon, died October 25, 2003, at his home in Granite City, IL. Visitation 4 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, October 28th, at the funeral home. Funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, October 29th, at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL. Interment Glen Carbon City Cemetery, Glen Carbon IL. Mr. Owens worked at Granite City Steel for 30 years as a hod carrier before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and Laborer's Local #179 both in Edwardsville. Survivors include a son James R. (Wife Kelly) Owens, Jr. of Cedar Hill, Mo. Two daughters; Ann Owens of Alton, Il. and Jenny (Husband Jeffrey) Copeland of Wood River, Il. Seven grandchildren and One great grandchild. Three sisters: Blanche MacDonald of St. Louis, Mo., Marilyn Turner of Texas, and Helen Segar of Edwardsville, IL. One brother John Owens preceded. Memorials maybe given to the First Assemlby of God church.
