James L. Masinelli

James L. Masinelli, age 88, of Litchfield, IL, formerly of Staunton, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Litchfield Health & Rehab Center.

James was born on April 12, 1937, in Staunton, IL, the son of the late Amelio and Charlotte (Funderberk) Masinelli. On October 24, 1959, he married the love of his life, Ann (Scroggins) Masinelli, in Livingston, IL. They were blessed with 66 years of marriage and a lifetime of cherished memories.

James is survived by his devoted wife, Ann; and his four daughters: Wendy Williamson (Tony Court), of Staunton, IL; Sandy Imes and husband Frank of California; Kimberly Moran and husband Michael of Edwardsville, IL; and Karen Robertson and husband Scott Skertich of Staunton, IL.

He was the proud grandfather of Andrea Williamson; Amanda (Chad) Dugger; Meghan Duncan; Frank Baker Imes Jr.; Luke; Ryan; Lisa Hebenstreit (Alan Koenig); Colin (Earl Reah Robertson); Hope (Robert Smith); and Audrey Robertson.

James is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Carson, Emma, and Aidan Dugger; Key and Kai Hebenstreit; Waylon, Hayes, and Hendrix Duncan; who brought him great joy.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Masinelli, and his sister, Paula Robbs.

James will be remembered for his love of family, his steady presence, his craftsmanship, and the kindness he showed to everyone he met. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Staunton VFW Hall, 120 E Henry St, in Staunton, IL, from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm.  The family plans to share memories and eulogize James at 12:30 pm. .
