James Aaron Lovell Obituary

James Aaron Lovell, age 86, of Magnolia, TX, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at his residence on Sunday, July 12, 2026.  James was born on January 21, 1940, in Birmingham, AL, the son of the late Aaron & Jean (Wilson) Lovell.  James married Vasthie (Wells) Lovell on August 6, 1962, in Fremont, IN. Besides his wife of 63 years, James is survived by three children, Mark & Melanie Lovell, Bob & Jamime Lovell, Angie & John Young; nine grandchildren Jim, Dallas, Melanie, Bobby, John, Matt, Mark, Dylan, and Danielle; five great grandchildren Meadow, Mercy, Danny, Jesse and a namesake on the way, James Aaron Lovell. Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his three brothers, Meyer Lovell, Aaron Lovell, and Bob Lovell; three sisters, Mary Lovell, Margie Lovell, and Teenie Lovell; and a great grandson, Robert Moses Lovell.   He found great joy in spending time fishing, raising and sparring with his chickens and roosters, and collecting coins. Above all else, his greatest love was his family, who were always at the center of his life.  A visitation will take place Monday, July 20, 2026, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  Visitation will continue on Tuesday, July 21, at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, at the funeral home at 12:30 pm with Rev.
