Isabella J. Ricker, age 83, of Hardin, IL, formerly of Glen Carbon, IL, died March 7, 2003, at her residence in Hardin, IL. Funeral services at 10 AM on Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon, IL. Burial was at Glen Carbon City Cemetery in Glen Carbon, IL. Mrs. Ricker was a night supervisor in the traffic department for Illinois Bell Telephone in Collinsville, retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon, the AFL-CIO, Telephone Pioneers of America, American Legion post 199 Ladies Auxillary, Women of the Moose, Chapter 82, and the Daughters of Isabella. She organized the the first 4H club, The Girls Sewing Club in Glen Carbon, in the 1940s. She is survived by 2 sons: Robert W. (wife Sue) Ricker and Albert B. Ricker, Jr.; a daughter, Betsy (husband Thomas) Pearse; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and a sister, Mary Doran Welsing.
