Lt. Col., Irving C. Hudlin, PhD, US Army, Ret., age 75, of Glen Carbon, IL, died January 31, 2002, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Funeral services at 1 PM on Sunday, February 3, 2002, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville, IL. Burial was at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Hudlin was a US Army veteran who received the Gold Cross of Greece, 3 bronze stars and the Army Commendation Medal. His memberships included the Edwardsville Knights of Columbus, Senior Men's Bowling League and the Senior Citizens Golf League. He was also on the board of trustees for the Glen Carbon Public Library. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville where he served as a lector. He is survived by his wife Thelma (McGruder) Hudlin; a son Dr. Irving C. Hudlin; 2 daughters; Colleen Wilkerson and Sharon Morris; 7 grandchildren; 4 brothers: Russell, Richard, Edward, and Warrington Hudlin; and a sister, Lucille McClelland.
