Homer Marti

Homer E. Marti, age 84, of Edwardsville, IL, died March 12, 2003, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL. Funeral services at 7 PM on Sunday, March 16, 2003, at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL. According to his wishes, his remains were cremated. Mr. Marti was retired from the Carpenter's Union. He was a veteran of the US Army during WW II, serving in the European Theater. He was also a member of the Gladiolus Society of Illinois. He was a member of the Edwardsville VFW, the Edwardsville American Legion, and was also a former zoning administrator for the city of Edwardsville. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Wherle) Marti; 3 sons: David, James and Richard Marti; a daughter, Beth Maxwell; 4 grandchildren; and a brother, Orville Marti. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Gerhardt and Vernon Marti; and a sister, Dorothy Geers.
