Gloria married Merlin G. “Red” Gusewelle on April 14, 1951, at the Grantfork United Church of Christ in Grantfork, IL.  Red preceded her in death on February 28, 2021, just 6 weeks before their 70th wedding anniversary. Gloria is also survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Autenrieb & husband Kevin, of Edwardsville, Marla Faith Bockhorst & husband Brad, of Lake Forest, CA; four grandchildren, Andrew Autenrieb & wife Angela, of Edwardsville, Lori Blumberg & husband Robert, of Edwardsville, Ryan Bockhorst & wife Sarah, of Riverside, CA, Alex Bockhorst & wife Kelsey, of Glendale, AZ; seven great grandchildren, Wyatt & Lucy Autenrieb, Lainey, Sam, & Chloe Blumberg, Conrad & Anna Bockhorst.  Besides her parents and husband, Gloria was preceded in death by siblings, Lucille Etheridge and George O.     Gloria enjoyed telling stories of her childhood, spent playing basketball, helping on the family farm, riding her beloved horse, King, and getting into mischief with friends and cousins. After high school, Gloria moved to St. Louis and enjoyed the city life, working at Southwestern Bell Telephone until she married Red. She then devoted her time to the family farm and raising her family.  Later in life, Gloria loved being with family and friends, going to dances at the Highland Lindendale Hall and traveling with Red.
Church was always a central part of Gloria’s life, and throughout her life, she was a member of Grantfork United Church of Christ, Immanuel Methodist Church in Edwardsville, IL, and St. Matthew Church in Belleville, IL. She enjoyed social activities with the Wednesday Club and New Life Club in Belleville, IL. She was also a member of the Madison County Farm Bureau Prime Timers, Pin Oak Township Sr. Club and other travel clubs.
