Eunice Fore

Eunice Fore (nee Meikamp), age 95, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Stearns Nursing Home in Granite City, IL, with her family by her side.  She was born October 17, 1928, in Edwardsville, IL, the daughter of the late Clarence & Frances (Feldworth) Meikamp.  Eunice married the late Leamon (Lee) Fore on September 25, 1949, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Edwardsville.  She is survived by two sons; David Fore & wife Susan, of Glen Carbon, IL, and Richard Fore & wife Julie, of Edwardsville, IL; one daughter, Diane (Strader) Malench, of Edwardsville, IL; three grandsons, Shane Fore & wife Jodi, Richard Fore, and Robert Fore; a granddaughter, Meagan Strader, and her son, her husband, and two stepchildren; nieces, Joan Fore, Wilhelmina Morris; and  a nephew, Keith Fore.

Eunice graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1946. Eunice worked at Famous Barr in downtown St. Louis for many years and then was a bookkeeper at the Edwardsville Creamery in the late 1940’s.  She was a member of Home Extension and multiple card clubs and had a passion for shopping.  Eunice was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Edwardsville.  Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville.  Services will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Robert J. Jallas officiating.  Interment will also follow at St. Boniface Cemetery in Edwardsville.  Family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association.
