Emil F. Jason, age 74, of Edwardsville, IL, died June 11, 2002, at his home in Edwardsville, IL. Visitation was from 10 AM to 11 AM on Saturday, June 15th, at the Mt. Joy Missionary Baptist Church in Edwardsville, IL. where funeral services were held at 11 AM on Sat., June 15th. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. Mr. Jason was Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at SIU-E, a member of the American Chemical Society, Goshen Oaks, The NAACP, the Illinois Farm Bureau, and a Veteran of The US Army during the Korean Conflict. He attended Lincoln School in Edwardsville, Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo., Howard University in Washington, DC, and Washington University where he received his PHD in Chemistry. He is survived by his wife Marguerite (Labadie) Jason. Two daughters: Sarita (Dexter) Smith and Marita (Special Friend Kevin Jemison) Jason. Two grandchildren Jason & Justin Smith. Four Brothers: Roy Jason, Jr., Harold Jason, Carl Jason, and Don Jason. Three Sisters: Malweda Thomas, Effie Kent, and Fern Stone.
