Eleanor E. Handlon, age 83, of Edwardsville, IL, died April 3, 2002, Maryville Manor in Maryville, IL. Funeral services at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 6, 2002, at Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel in Edwardsville, IL. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. Mrs. Handlon was a proof reader for 15 years at the Edwardsville Intelligencer retiring in 1979. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. A Graduate of McKendree College, Past President of the Edwardsville Jr. Service Club, A member of the Friends of ARt, AAUW, & Volunteer at Madison County Historical Museum. She is survived by two daughters: Susan Medelshohn adn Claire Handlon. Two Grandchildren; Four great grandchildren. One brother: William Freshour. She was preceded in death by her husband George W. Handlon
