Edward Fresen

Rev. Edward H. Fresen, age 92, of Glen Carbon, IL, died July 28,2002,at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, IL. Funeral services were held at 10 AM on Thursday, August 1st, at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL. Burial was at Forever Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. Rev. Fresen was ordained at Eden United Church of Christ on June 21, 1936. He was a graduate of Elmhurst College and Eden Theological School in Webster Groves, Missouri. He pastored for over 45 years in Metropolis, Fieldon, Greenview, Zion, Addieville, Lenzburg, Fayeteville, and Evansville, Illinois. He also pastored in Inman & Hiawatha, Kansas. He managed the Highland Home in Highland, Illinois. He was active in the Swiss Striders Organization, Senior Olympics, and the Route 66 Association. He served as a delegate to the White House Conference on aging. Rev. Fresen was preceded by his wife Lela (Bremer) Fresen, One son Edward C. Fresen and a grandson Nathan Hincle. He is survived by his daugher Wanda Hinckle. A granddaughter Susan Hinckle. One sister Ruthe Yeager of Crofton, Md. A niece Joyce Dail of Crofton. Two great nieces Jennifer Sharpless and Helen Dail.
