Donald Shaffer

Donald W. Shaffer, age 72, of Edwardsville, IL, died February 20, 2003, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL. Visitation was from 4 PM to 8 PM on Sunday, February 23rd, at the Weber Funeral Home. Funeral services at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 24th, at Eden United Church of Christ in Edwardsville, IL. Burial was at Forever Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. Mr. Shaffer retired in 1985 as a Cartographer for Defense Mapping Aerospace Agency Center in St. Louis. He was a member of Eden United Church of Christ. A Veteran of the US Airforce during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Edwardsville American Legion Post 199, and avid golfer, football fan, and music lover. He received his bachelor's degree from SIU Carbondale in 1954. Survivors include his wife LaVerna Voyles Shaffer, a son Stan Wesley (Patricia) Shaffer, a daughter Cindy (Dan) Highlander. Four grandchidlren. One brother Harold "Zeke" (Doris) Shaffer. A sister Geraldine Determan. Memorials may be directed to the Eden Foundation of Ministries.
