Diane L Martin

Diane L. Martin, age 69, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO.  Diane was born on June 14, 1955, in Highland, IL, the daughter of the late Harold & Betty (Schmidt) Heepke. Diane married Patric D. Martin on September 14, 1974, at Eden Church in Edwardsville. Besides her husband of 50 years, Diane is survived by her three daughters; Amy (Eric) Wiwczaroski, of Greenwood, IN, Julie (Shaun) Manley, of Glen Carbon, IL, and Tammy (Matt) Bartels, of Waynesville, OH; six grandchildren, Jessica, Austin & Blake Manley, of Glen Carbon, IL, Zachary, Whitney, & Courtney Bartels, of Waynesville, OH;  and in laws, Eileen Heepke, of Edwardsville, IL, and Dee (Marc) Blouin, of Peachtree City, GA.  Besides her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her father & mother-in-law, Alfred “Sonny” & Lucille Martin, and her brother, Jim Heepke. Diane was a lifelong member of Eden Church where she was very active in various groups and committees over the years including Circle 2, Council member, Confirmation Mentor, youth group advisor, Bible study groups, Cherub children’s choir assistant, Eden Church bowling league, and the Church “Farmhands” volleyball team.  Diane also was active in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life where she was a Team Captain for over 10 years and a Susan G Komen 3-Day participant. Diane was very supportive of the farming community with involvement in the Young Farmers, Farm Bureau member, Pork producers, and a 4-H member growing up.  Diane also enjoyed sports being a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, an SIUE Cougar basketball season ticket holder for multiple years, and an avid EHS Tigers supporter.  Diane was an amazing wife and mother.  She was very supportive of all her children and grandchildren’s activities. A visitation will be held at Eden Church in Edwardsville on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 4 pm until 7 pm.  Visitation will continue at Eden Church on Saturday, October 19, from 10 am until service time at 11 am with Rev. John Roberts officiating.  Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville.  Memorials may be given to Eden Church.   Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com
