David L. Hobbs

David L.  Hobbs, age 71, of Moro, IL, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2024, at his residence.  David was born on December 3, 1952, in Dayton, OH, the son of the late Clifford E. & Barbara J. (Cail) Hobbs.  David is survived by his four children, Tonia Monforton & her husband Mike, of Rehobeth, AL; Tim Hobbs & his wife Jenn, of Englewood, OH, Chris Hobbs & his wife Danielle, of Godfrey, IL, and Morgan Hobbs & her fiancé Johnny Howard, of Pontoon Beach, IL; eight grandchildren, Ashley Gilmore, Logan Gilmore, Joshua Monforton, Kylie Monforton, Eden Muscarella, Jackson Hobbs, Willow Hobbs, and Oliver Howard; four sisters, Karen Hobbs, Cathy Cail, Sandy Hobbs-Bailey, and Diana Baker; a brother, Terry Hobbs; and many other nieces, nephews, and close friends.  Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by a brother Steven Hobbs.  David was a veteran of the US Air Force serving as an airlift/bombardment aircraft maintenance technician.  After his military service David went to work for McDonnell Douglas as a flight mechanic, which later became Boeing and retired after 40 plus years of service. David enjoyed his motorcycles, airplanes, and racing.  With a passion for being a mechanic he loved to tinker on his AMC Gremlin.  He also enjoyed playing and listening to music.  Most of all David, loved his family and always tried to keep in touch with all his children.  David will be cremated according to his wishes and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.
