Dana Eugene Johnson

Dana Eugene Johnson, age 65, of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in Indianapolis, IN.  Dana was born on August 8, 1959, in Highland, IL, the son of the late John Johnson & Fritizie Anne (Lewis) Young.  Dana married Kimberly K. (Jackson) Johnson.   Besides his wife, Dana is survived by his children, Brittney L  (Joleon) Pettway, of Seattle, WA, and Dana Michael Johnson, of Seattle, WA; two stepchildren, Amanda K. (Davonte Wright) Jackson and Ashley K Crowe, both of Indianapolis, IN; two grandchildren, Naomi M. Pettway and Julia M. Pettway both of Seattle, WA; four step grandchildren; Anayla Jones, Amya Wright, David Wright and Amanda Wright all of Indianapolis, IN; three brothers, Louis Johnson, of Troy, IL, Timothy Johnson, of Ellicott City, MD, George Johnson, of East Alton, IL; three sisters, Sheryl Davis, of Edwardsville, IL, Carolyn Hickman, of East Alton, IL, and Teresa Johnson, of Edwardsville, IL; and many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.  Besides his parents, Dana was preceded in death by his sisters, Linda D. Johnson-Foster; Laura J. Johnson-Burse, Leslie J. Johnson and Suzanne M. Johnson Harrison.  Dana graduated from Edwardsville High School in the Class of 1977.  Dana was a very skilled mechanic and carried his passion over to the sport of auto racing.   He also enjoyed baseball and fishing, but most of all he loved his children and grandchildren.  A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm.  A funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Kenny Jackson presiding.  Following services Dana will be cremated according to his wishes.  Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.  Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com
