Clarence Schwab

Clarence W. Schwab, age 70, of Edwardsville, IL, died August 8, 2002, at St. Mary's Health Center in Clayton, MO. Funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, August 11, 2002, at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL. Burial was at Forever Valley View in Edwardsville, IL. Mr. Schwab was a boilermaker for Shell Oil Refinery in Wood River. He was an avid high school sports fan, attending the IHSA State Basketball Tornament for the last 30 years. He was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame, "Friends of Basketball". He attended St. Boniface Catholic CHurch in Edwardsville and was a member of the Edwardsville Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann "Muff" (McCracken) Schwab; 3 sons: William, David, and Douglas Schwab; 1 daughter, Valerie Dunn; 2 step-sons: Randall and Richard Meikamp; 3 step-daughters: Rhonda Johnson, Becky Provence and Robyn Schmidt; 1 brother, Albert Schwab; 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a step-child, Robert Meikamp, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
