Charles A. Wentz, Sr., age 93, of Edwardsville, IL, died January 16, 2004, at Cedar Ridge Care Faciltiy in Lebanon, Il. Visitation from 9 AM until 11 AM Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Immanuel United Methodist Church Funeral services at 11 AM on Tuesday, Jan. 20th , at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Edwardsville, IL. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville, Il . Mr. Wentz attended Edwardsville Schools and the Missouri School of Mines in Rolla, Missouri. He retired after 39 years as a Civil Engineer for Shell Oil Company in Wood River, Il. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church , the Pi Kappa Fraternity, an avid reader and gardener. Survivors include two sons: Charles A. (Joan) Wentz and Edward B. (Karen "Candy") Wentz all of Edwardsville. Five Grandchildren, three great grandchildren. One sister Ethel Knodel of Quincy, Il. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews. Charles was preceded by his wife Frances (Bohm) Wentz, and two sisters: Gladys Vine and Louise Wentz. Family requests memorials to the Immanuel United Methodist Church.
