Charles F. Foehrkalb, age 97, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Liberty Village in Maryville, IL. Charles was born on March 8, 1929, in Edwardsville, IL, the son of the late Henry & Frances (Selzer) Foehrkalb. Charles married Maxine L. (Schaefer) Foehrkalb on January 26, 1951, at Eden Church in Edwardsville. After 69 years of marriage Maxine preceded Charles in death on April 3, 2020. Charles is survived by two daughters, Susan Murphey, of Coronado, Panama, Marsha Locus, of Edwardsville, IL; a son, Gregory Foehrkalb & wife Deborah, of Staunton, IL; three grandsons, Preston Foehrkalb & wife Claire, of O’Fallon, IL, Christopher Locus & wife Ashley, of Warrenville, IL, Matthew Locus & wife Courtney, of Edwardsville; and four great grandchildren, Carter Foerhkalb, Caleb Foehrkalb,  Henry Locus, and Evelyn Locus.  Besides his parents and wife, Charles was preceded in death by his three siblings, James Foehrkalb, Joseph Foehrkalb, and Edna Hensley; and a son in law, James Murphey. Charles was a veteran of the US Army serving in the 45th Infantry Division during the Korean War.  Charles was awarded the Purple Heart while serving in Korea. Charles worked in the trucking industry for his entire life until his retirement.  There will be no visitation and a private family service will be held at a later date.
