Bonita “Bonnie” Jane Williams, age 73, of Edwardsville, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2025, at University Nursing and Rehab in Edwardsville. She was born September 22, 1951, in Wood River, IL, the daughter of the late Delmer & Marcella (Smith) Schoenleber. Bonnie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Michael W. Williams, whom she married on December 17, 1972. She is also survived by three children, Michelle Jane Williams, Brandy Angela Viessmann & husband Rob, Shane Michael Williams & wife Victoria; four grandchildren, Damon Wofford, Cheyenne Hubbard, Theodore & Alexander Williams; sisters, Myra Farrell & husband Bob, Sandra Hinck & husband Randy; sister-in-law Celia Steiner & husband Steve; aunt, Connie Schoenleber; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bonnie was preceded by her parents, sister Linda Dressler; brother, David Schoenleber; son, Mason Williams, daughter, Heidi Williams & granddaughter, Ciera Wofford. She was a graduate of EHS Class of 1969, SIUE Class of 1974. Bonnie went on to teach at Trinity Lutheran School for many years, was a dedicated Sunday school teacher, superintendent, preschool teacher, girl scout & boy scout leader. She was also a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Edwardsville. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. John Shank officiating. The burial will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
