Barbara Ryan Obituary

Barbara Ann Ryan (Becker), 74, of Maryville, Illinois passed peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025, surrounded by love.  Born on November 1, 1951, Barb lived a life dedicated to family, God, and friends.

She graduated from Webster University and obtained her Masters in Human Resources from Maryville University, all while caring for her young daughters, her elderly parents,  and working full time. Most of her professional career was spent with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS), where she served on the Board of Directors and retired as Executive Director of Human Resources. After retirement, she dedicated her life to her daughters and five grandchildren and will always be remembered for her delicious family dinners, warm holiday celebrations, and legendary birthday dates. Barbara was a friend to many people. She had a caring attitude and had fierce strength and resiliency. She will be missed so much by so many. 

To all that loved her, she wanted you to know “Thanks for being in my life; I have loved you in this life; l will love you in my next.”

Barb is survived by the father of her daughters, Charles Ryan, her two daughters, Nicole (Aaron) Ryan-Hicks and McKenzie (Paul) C. Ferguson, the and five grandchildren, Hunter Ryan, Landon Riley, Caden Paul, Norah Ryan, and Westin Charles. She is also survived by three siblings Sandra (Patrick) Shannon, Robert Becker, and James (Claudine) Becker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Blanche Becker; sister-in-law, Mary Becker; and her nephew, Steven Becker.

A private interment took place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 7th, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at The Outlet (Edison's Entertainment), located at 2477 South State Rte .157, Edwardsville, IL 62025.  For flower arrangements, please contact Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to her place of eternal rest at Woodlawn Cemetery or the American Cancer Society.  Condolences may be shared online at weberfuneralhome.com.
